This recipe is from Nigella Express and when I saw it on the tv show it seemed so easy and fast to make that I knew I wanted to try it. The chocolate pears turned out heavenly… I could have eat the whole tray as soon as I got it out of the oven.
At first it seems not enough batter for the amount of pears but it’s fine because when you put it in the oven it spreads between the pears. Anyway, I did half of the recipe because it was just the 2 of us eating and it’s great straight out of the oven while it’s still warm (you can warm it up a bit in the microwave afterwards)!
2 cans x 14oz of canned pear halves (drained) 4oz self-rising flour 1oz cocoa powder 4oz sugar 5oz soft butter 2 eggs 2 tablespoons vanilla extract Place the drained pears in a greased ovenproof dish. Mix all the remaining ingredients with an electric beater or in a food processor and spoon over the pears. Bake in an 400F oven for about 30 minutes. Ready to eat! |
